The open enrollment period for Covered California has begun
The open enrollment period for Covered California has begun and lasts until January 31, 2018. For coverage starting January 1, enroll by December 15. Last year, 80% of Americans that purchased health insurance on the state exchanges qualified for financial assistance in the form of tax credits, and those tax credits are still available. Depending on your household income, you may also be eligible for Medi-Cal coverage [adapted from an email update from Congressman Adam Schiff].
What is Covered California?
Covered California is where Californians can get brand-name health insurance under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. It’s the only place to get federal premium assistance to help you buy health insurance from the companies shown below. That means you may qualify for a discount on a health plan through Covered California, or get health insurance through the state’s Medi-Cal program. Either way, you’ll have great health coverage.
CoveredCA.com is sponsored by Covered California and the Department of Health Care Services, which work together to help health insurance shoppers get the coverage and care that are right for them.
